There was not much movement at the top of the charts this week. Lil Wayne [click to read] continued to hold the #2 spot, selling six-figures of units. The shocker to some is Three 6 Mafia’s [click to read] return to album making. Last 2 Walk [click to read] cracked the top five, as one of Columbia’s first rap releases since Rick Rubin’s takeover at the historic imprint. Usher and Rihanna held positioning, dropping rank a few units. Rihanna continues to sell strongly in digital singles, with the repackaging of her year-old album.

This week, Lil Wayne gets bumped out of the #1 spot by Coldplay’s highly anticipated debut of Viva La Vida which sold 721,200 copies this week. The Carter III, though no longer in the top spot, still sold a very respectable 308,500 in its second week on the charts. Plies‘ Definition of Real, which made a surprising debut at #2 last week, fell to #5 with 67,700 copies sold this week.

The phone which took the technology world by storm last year, is about to become “twice as fast, and half the price”.
